Heather's softball season is finished. Her team was ranked 4th and ended up 2nd in the district. She started playing softball two years ago for her high school. She's left handed and plays third base.

Heather's team started the season loosing almost all of their games. The end of the season is a different story. Her team got some confidence and improved their skills to become a competitive team. On Saturday they played the number 5 seed and beat them in a close game 5-4. A few hours later they played the number 1 seeded team and beat them 2-1. They played Monday night for the district J.V. championship, and lost in a close game 3-4. Mountain Home (the team they played for the championship) had to work hard for the win, because Heather's team showed up to play some serious softball.

Heather
Heather is a very smart softball player. She thinks fast and has some awesome plays. Some of my favorites are:
1. She was up to bat, and hit a ball right at the pitcher. The ball hit the pitcher in her pitching hand and popped up so the pitcher caught it to get Heather out. The pitcher was shaking her hand the rest of the game. Heather hit her hard!
2. The opposing team hit a line drive down to third base (heather's base). Heather stretched out and caught the ball before it hit the ground which made the girl out. Heather was in a diving position when she caught it. AMAZING!
3. The opposing team batter hit a grounder ball at Heather, she picked it up and threw it to first base for the out. This happens frequently to Heather. You would think that the opposing teams would learn not to hit to Heather, they get out almost every time.
4. Heather's hitting is just as stellar as her catching and throwing. For the Championship game she hit the ball to the fence between the center and left fielders and made it to second base. What a hit! I'm hoping for a homerun next year!
